Words to warm you when life gets cold This isn't just a book. Not just poetry. It's medicine. Love filled medicine.
Beautiful heartfelt poetry about loss and love that touches your soul, warms your heart and lifts your spirit.
‘The best gift I could give my heart’
Dear reader,
American writer, publisher and poet Carl Sandberg once said: Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance.
An intruiging way of saying poetry invites feelings that make you want to hide under a blanket.
Many shadows were asked to dance in the thirty years that fill this book. Starting with the early loss of my mom.
I just had to take pen to paper and start writing to keep deep, dark and overwhelming feelings from swallowing my heart and sending my soul to oblivion. As I wrote, starting off in utter darkness, words turned into liquid gold filling up the cracks in my heart.
It was the best gift I could give my heart.
Turning restlessness into relief, grief into gratitude and loss into love.
Tears of dispair changed to tears of profound gratitude and selflove.
The words I wrote, were healing words. Are healing words.
They’re meant to help. Meant to heal.
They helped me dance with my shadows.
And I trust they help you dance with yours.
Especially on days that life gets cold.
With love, Diane
